This piece explores the layered history of place- what came before, what remains, and what is disappearing. The skeletal forms of towering eucalyptus trees loom over a delicate Queenslander home, their presence both protective and haunting. These trees were here long before the house, yet in a suburban landscape where both historic homes and native bushland are vanishing, they feel like ghosts of a past that is slipping away.
