This painting captures the quiet pause between sea and sky, where the mudflats stretch out beneath a radiant horizon. The boardwalk, drawn in fine white lines, leads the viewer into the intertidal zone - aplace of stillness, yet constant change. Bands of vivid colour evoke the shifting light of dusk or dawn, when the tide rests low and the sky spills its brilliance across the flats. Standing here feels like standing between worlds, suspended between tide and light.
